MJ Memorial Items Laid To Rest In Woodlawn Cemetery

Flowers, letters and other mementos that were placed outside of Detroit's Motown Historical Museum in memory of Michael Jackson have been buried at a high profile cemetery.



Two hearses carried the items on Friday morning from the museum to the Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit where they were buried. A vault, granite headstone and two plots were donated to the Jackson memorial. A brief remembrance and prayer service was also held at the cemetery.

Woodlawn is the final place of rest for several musicians and public figures, including members of the Four Tops, the Temptations and Rosa Parks.

Motown Fans Have Their Own Burial For Michael Jackson

Since no final resting place for Michael Jackson has been chosen yet by the Jackson family, the fans of Detroit, Michigan took it upon themselves to create their own burial for Michael Jackson. In the absence of a body, the Motown community filled two casket-shaped vaults with memorial items such as toys, flowers and other mementos donated by fans in memory of Michael Jackson.

Two hearses carried the vaults to Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit where a granite tombstone stands above two donated cemetery plots. The following is engraved on the tombstone:

"Motown Remembers the King of Pop Michael J. Jackson Aug. 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009, Songwriter, Singer, Producer, Dancer, Choreographer, Humanitarian, Jackson 5 member, Soloist, 13 #1 Singles, 13 Grammy's, 197 Awards & 37 Top 40 hits. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Motown Legend, Gone Too Soon"



The Motown Historical Museum organized the burial to help bring closure to the Michael Jackson fans who created a shrine on the steps of the museum after Jackson died.

Museum CEO Audley Smith and radio personality John Mason spoke to fans in front of the Motown Historical Museum on Friday, July 17 as the vaults were filled with stuffed animals and other items and then loaded into the hearses. The two hearses that transported the vaults were led by a police escort and were donated by The James H. Cole Funeral Home.

Audley Smith said that some of the tribute items, like storybooks and drawings, will be kept by the museum for use in a future exhibit honouring Michael Jackson.

The two cemetery plots were donated by Woodlawn Cemetery which is the final resting place for Rosa Parks and many famous musicians.

A noticia não é nova, ontem vendo o blog da Fênix (que é melhor que o Google para pesquisar noticias sobre o MJ) vi um post dela sobre o enterro que a Motown Historical Museum, organizou para que fãs de Michael Jackson pudessem render suas homenagens.

Na época eu havia escrito algo sobre o assunto, até comentei algo com algumas pessoas, mas não publique.
O meu ponto de vista era sobre a reação das pessoas quando Michael voltasse...

Por acreditar que Michael está vivo, eu nunca iria visitar esse local. Por outro lado se eu não soubesse dessa verdade, eu ia ficar muito chateada se descobrisse que fui “enganada”. Chorar em sepultura simbólica já é complicado, chorar em uma sepultura por uma pessoa que esta viva... aff Olha eu não iria ficar chateada, eu ia ficar com raiva. Depois eu até ficaria de boa, por saber que o meu ídolo estava vivo.

Agora 10 meses depois da suposta morte, se Michael voltar, como vai ser para os fãs que vão à sepultura chorar sua morte?

Sem esse papo que hoje só não sabe quem não quer. Há fãs que por mais que estejam acompanhando tudo sobre o fato de Michael está vivo, não acreditam! Torcem para que seja verdade, mas não acreditam.

Há pessoas que sabem que Michael está vivo e sofrem muito por sua ausência. Não sei se esses fãs ainda acreditam que Michael Jackson faleceu, espero que muitos não acreditem.
Tenho um grande receio da reação das pessoas fãs ou não, mas tenho muito mais medo da reação destes fãs.
